For my 70th birthday year, it seemed appropriate to do something special and as I had never seen Australia or New Zealand, this was an obvious choice, although at the time of booking, the world was still in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

For this trip, Andrew & I would be joined by Angie, Carol and Julia. However, it was not to be. By October 2021, Australia and New Zealand were still closed to tourists and with no clear signs of them opening-up, Holland America cancelled the itinerary and moved the whole trip forward to 2023 - and on sister ship Noordam instead of Oosterdam!
