Queen Victoria had just come out of a major refit with 30 new cabins and an aft profile more like her sister Queen Elizabeth when we were given the chance of a Friends & Family offer for 7 nights in late summer. With promises of two new destinations for us and the opportunity for some tendering, what better way to enjoy a return to the wonderful Queen's Grill!

However, having been kept waiting until 4 days prior to departure before being allocated our "cabin", a Q4-grade suite #7051, we received a 'phone call 2 days later to say that Cunard had overbooked Queens Grill and wanted us to downgrade to a Princess Grill suite, for which they would refund the fare we had paid in the first place. We were not obliged to accept the offer but the opportunity of a "free cruise" in, albeit a Princess Grill suite, was too good an offer to turn down!
